Movie You're Watching Tonight

I'm putting this on the back burner for later tonight. I got a lot going on and I need to watch something I can listen to more than watch.

Spader is hot as hell, as ever.
What a brilliant film. Carrie for adults, heh.
You know this is my favorite teen film. I went to high school with people like these characters.

Its a reason why i dont like Spader. Maybe its just Steph i dont like. He does play good bad guys in films (Less Than Zero and Manniquin).

Jon Cryer is an amazing comedic actor..

It is remarkably deep, as teen films go. Everyone goes on about Breakfast Club, but I much prefer this one.

I get that regarding Spader; if that had been the first time I saw him, I may have gotten the same impression. But I absolutely love many of his other films (especially Crash, The Secretary). Agree that he’s a great villain. I just really like his face, it has depth imo.

I mean, even as Steff his character is very realistic. I think he acts the way he does largely because he’s used to those spineless girls, and can’t handle a personality like Andie’s. So he’s resentful about her being a strong person while he isn’t. I don’t even think it’s about him liking her. Anyway, I liked everything about Pretty in Pink, it’s pretty perfect. Andie is a lot like my mum personality-wise.

I went to school with such people, too, but luckily (I guess?) I was always able to keep my distance. I was briefly part of the ‘gang’ through little action of my own, but even then I kept my distance. That was ‘informative’, as Loki says in Prisoners.

Need something to work to. If only Pitt still looked like in his Fight Club days.

This is alright, though. Watchable.
Tilda tragically ****s up a German accent — she sounds entirely French. Quite convincingly French, I might add, but not at all German. Why would anyone do this? It’s like the usual debacle with Alec Baldwin & Co speaking Russian. Why not hire Vicky Krieps to sound German? Tilda adds nothing to this film. Just baffling.
