That Sean Astin is not the biological son of John Astin.

I always thought Sean bore no resemblance to John (but does look a lot like his mother Patty Duke).
Sean Astin is now 54 years old. John Astin is still alive at age 95. Patty Duke died in 2016 at age 70.

From IMDB Trivia on John Astin:
Son Sean Astin is not his biological child. He is ex-wife Patty Duke's son with her ex-husband Michael Tell. Duke claimed Sean's biological father was John Astin until the two blood-tested in 1990 and this became clear that Tell was the father.

I don't actually wear pants.
I learned that George A Romero wanted to remake Season of the Witch because, as he stated, the cast and crew couldn't do a lot with what they had money-wise, and he felt it was lacking the oomph he wanted. He wanted to make it again with a higher budget, although I don't believe he ever did.

That's kind of like how Akira Kurosawa wanted to direct a Godzilla film, except Toho wouldn't let him because they feared it would cost them too much money. I understand Kurosawa was tied to direct the Japanese sequences of Tora! Tora! Tora! except he wanted too many fine things, including things that wouldn't have impacted the story much, and the studio couldn't afford all of the details he wanted, so they replaced him with someone rather cheaper.

I should note I am unsure about the Kurosawa Tora fact. That is merely hearsay and I have not looked into its validity. I repeat it and it stuck with me because it'd make sense, though I like to offer it with a grain or two of salt.

I also thought of another thing to share that I didn't think warranted a whole nother post: there's a site called Rare Films And More.com that has a lot of, uh, rare films, mostly older films, that are usually harder to find and definitely lesser seen. They don't have everything. I like the choice they offer, although I've only purchased one film from them as of yet (Desperado Outpost) (which is a Japanese World War II murder mystery) (and yes that works as a sub genre) (and is an awesome film) (okay enough parentheticals).

That's where I learned about Even the Wind Is Afraid, although I actually watched it on Tubi, since Tubi is free and Rare Films and More is not. It's a cool site though and I figure you guys could utilize it too.

That prior to being known for "The Twilight Zone," Rod Serling had fought and saw combat in the South Pacific campaign of WW2 against Japan and also that for "odd jobs" he tested parachutes and ejection seats... geeesh! What a BA!

Cousin... Business is a-boomin
Samuel L. Jackson was one of the ushers at Dr. Martin Luther King's funeral in 1968.

Then, in 1969 he and a group of others held faculty hostage (including MLK Sr.) at Morehouse College demanding reform in the school's curriculum and governance. He was arrested but it worked.

He also joined the Black Panther Party but his mother forced him to move to Los Angeles before he was involved in any armed confrontations.

Just now, in a hardware store parking lot, I discovered that David Shore produced much of Due South as well as creating House, M.D. That makes a lot of sense retrospectively.

I work a quarter mile away from the building the movie Annie (1982) used for the exterior shots of the orphanage. It's still standing there.

Bryan Cranston’s daughter Taylor plays Doctor King in The Pitt. She’s very good in her rôle.

Hot dogs are the Walmart of processed meats
All hot dogs, sausages, lunch meat and the like are processed meats.

They are full of byproduct and sodium and completely bad for us.

Even most from a butcher is this way.

The reason we eat them is convenience.

Things you're finding on a molecular level are pretty close to meaningless. You're already inhaling tiny bits of hair or skin all the time, so trace amounts of that in food products isn't going to do anything, the same way you consume trace amounts of arsenic (and other things that I won't describe because it grosses people out) with no ill effects. This stuff is so small it doesn't get past whatever first level of filter or bile or whatever.

Yup very true. I don't eat any of that stuff, except occasionally I'll have pepperoni on pizza but I never really like it.
