Underworld 2!

I'm not old, you're just 12.
Okay, so I am the last man on earth who actually wants something more than just Kate Beckinsdale in black leather out of a movie? I'm joking, but it still seems to be a poor reason to go. Oh, and when something tries as hard as Underworld does to be "Cool" it just makes me want to run away from the theater. lol

They recut the whole first few minutes, which were so badly put together the first time, I was getting seasick from all the jump cutting etc... So they re-edited that whole sequence and it is much better now. Aside from that, Erika (Blonde vamp chick) gets a couple of additional scenes, some more short backstory scenes were added, and I think a new music track was added, so the rumors go. To me, the film just flowed a bit better, and I could actually see what was going on during the whole first action scene/intro.

You also get many more special features, some good, some not so good, a very cool 80 page mini comic created from the original storyboards, and a sweet new case to hold the extra disc and the comic.

I didn;t care for the first cut, so never bought the first DVD release, and it was a no brainer once I saw the film again at a friends place, and decided I liked the film after all...

Monkey - Although Kate is a big part of it, there are other attributes I like about the film. For one thing, the film looks amazing, and I really like the lighting design. I also like how they work the historical aspects of the vamps and wolves into the plot. That said, the film is not flawless, or even close to it, but if you like that kind of thing, you can do much worse...

Halle Berry as Catwoman looked pretty good in black leather too. But I wouldn't recommend seeing it.

On another note...drop dead gorgeous women working as a meek, mistreated file clerk (or whatever Halle was in Catwoman) are a little hard to believe. I'm feeling I may have the same problem with Charlize Theron working in a mine in North Country. Gorgeous women don't have jobs like that. They don't have to.

OTOH, I might not be eager to see North Country if Rhea Perlman was the star.

Wow, I can't wait for this movie. The first one was great! I especially liked the bit where the guy said 'We're gonna need a bigger boat'.

That shark looked great in leather!

I agree-the first one was bad enough. Why go through it again? The story was ok but the acting was the real horror

From what I've read and seen so far of this sequel, it looks like this may actually be better than the first. Len Wiseman and Danny McBride return as co-writers, Wiseman also returns as director, and I think they both have learned from some of the mistakes in the first film, what not to do again. With nearly a full returning cast, the actors will have better interaction with each other, and altogether, will make for a much better product. I think the storyline created in the first Underworld is extremely original and adds a new view to vampire movies that the genre needed to rekindle interest. I, for one, am looking forward to seeing this on the big screen. An 11 foot tall Kate Beckinsale in tight Black latex ain't gonna hurt neither...

You must be in Atlantic City or Reno because Vegas Casinos burst at the seems with movie goers.

In fact, the best ones are at the Casinos. And, one of our two art outlets is in a casino.

Ill watch it, but then I enjoyed Underworld -- if the poorly written "ultimate" love story did make me want to vomit (WAY too "down the beaten path" and in fact, the entire plot line was lacking in originality). Loved the blue thing though, and the scifi effects and viral poisoning, and liquid bullets were a good touch.

Im watching the trailer now, and its interesting--but it is a story that has already been written in fashion by the Blade writers -- Vampires: Evolved. Wasnt that what the psuedo "Daywalkers" with the bat-mouths were in Blade 2?

Finally---Im a fan of Underworld because I like the new twist from the same of tired Human v. Vampires epic struggle (give me a break). FINALLY movies are going to catch up with the current "evolution" of vampire canon (pun intended), and insert Lycanthropes into the same universe of existence.

I dont know about you, but the battle between vampires and humans has long been boring to me, and the idea that you have 2 "supes" pitted against one another, even with a human audience/narrarator/judge/watcher is more interesting. AND its the way supernatural movies are headed.

Think about it:

Hellboy had human narrarator/bystander. AvP had human bystanders. Other movies are seeming to follow suit, where they have humanity chronicle a greater struggle, even benefit or suffer from it, but in the end, only end up being the scrivner, not the actual warrior, albeit scarred still.

Hey. Its interesting enough for me. But I think it is a way to have the story be as "believable" as possible, while still beyond belief.

Has anyone else notied how much the movie poster looks like the cover for Hitman: Contracts?
