I watched half of the pilot…too cutesy for me
It is fairly cutesy, but thats part of why I like it. It's fun and feels sort of like Castle or The Mentalist. The main woman is good in it.

Finally finished up with the 11 seasons of Frasier. It turned out to be 263 episodes. I guess during it's initial run I stopped watching after season 9 since most of the S10 and S11 episodes were new to me. Except for the one that featured Patrick Stewart. I did remember that one. I thought S10 started out a little rough with the series starting to show it's age. But it leveled out and concluded in a respectable enough manner.

I did make the mistake of immediately watching episode 1 of the new Frasier which I shouldn't have done. Not very good. The writing isn't up to snuff and most of the characters are subpar. Grown up Frederick is an especially annoying sort of stick figure. Maybe it gets better but I'm not sure it's worth investing any more time in.

I caught up on the latest episodes of High Potential. I'm enjoying it so far. Anyone else watching?

Hubby and I have been watching High Potential and we like it a lot. It kind of has a similar feel to shows like Columbo and Monk. It's one of the best of the new shows.

The new Frasier isn't bad, but it's definitely not as good as the original show. It's just one of those shows that's worth watching once just for the connection to the original show, but I doubt I'll ever go back and rewatch it. (And I love watching reruns of a lot of the old sitcoms.)

Well, like I said, I probably shouldn't have watched the new one immediately after finishing the original run. There's bound to be disparities whenever you reboot something but the passage of time always helps soften them. I think it was trying too hard to recreate the adversarial relationship between Martin and Frasier with Frederick and Frasier. But without the strong writing of the original it largely failed.

FWIW I thought about watching a few episodes tonight but went with an umpteenth rewatch of The Monolith Monsters. I'll eventually get around to watching the rest of S1 of the new Frasier.

You're right about them trying to recreate the adversarial relationship between Martin and Frasier with Frederick and Frasier, but Martin was a much better character than the adult Frederick, so it doesn't work as well.

I watched season 1 of the reboot, but I haven't seen any of the season 2 episodes yet. Hopefully it will get better as it goes along.

Re-watch of an excellent 10-part series based (loosely) on a true story. Margaret Qualley is a beautiful young woman & a fine actress.

Only thing that spoilt it for me was the scenery-chewing of her real-life mother Andie MacDowell. Boy, did she ever over-act & she had a ton of scenes. I cringed when she came on-screen.

Watching Ancient Apocalypse series season 2 on Netflix. It's one of my favorite topics!
I should check the season 2 at some point. The 1st season was better than I expected (only a little cringe and some actually interesting questions).

Yeah but he does touch on places he talked about before.

Two episodes was plenty for me. Very boring show. Not to mention someone tweeted the “answer” yesterday so there’s that.

Thought I would watch the pilot only, but ended up watching all 9 episodes. (Would have been better with 8 episodes only.)

All four leads are so good with Javier Bardem one minute hilarious, the next minute psychotic. Best thing he’s ever done IMO.

Definitely worth a watch.
