It sounds like they will make Porno the sequel to Trainspotting. Irvine Welsh, producer Andrew Macdonald and scriptwriter John Hodge are on board. No definite answer from the original cast or Danny Boyle. Both McGregor and Boyle have expressed concern towards the sequel. I'd like to see it happen if they both return. Thoughts?
In regards to the subject, yes, I would like to see an adaptation of Porno. Considering the differences between the novel and film versions of Trainspotting (as well as the film's ability to keep the same vibe as the book), I should think a Porno adaptation could go over rather well.
I will be rather annoyed if people start complaining about how it rips off Zack and Miri Make A Porno, though.
I seem to remember that the only barrier previously to the filming of Porno was that McGregor and Boyle weren't exactly on speaking terms.
I'd like to see it made if Danny can direct it (DB is Lord of all he surveys in my eyes, after all ) because I doubt if anyone else will approach the story with the same vibrancy.

Awesome! Trainspotting is one of my favourite movies. Although I'm always concerned wether the sequel will be as good as the first one, when it's a movie I care about. Same thing with Boondock 2.
But I'll definetly watch both of them.
I could see this being good, but only if they get the original cast back.

Danny Boyle confirms Trainspotting 2
Sep 13, 2011
Really?
Danny Boyle could make any movie he now wishes, and yet, he told Starpulse that he’s got the idea and a draft of the script done for a Trainspotting 2. “Oh, it’s gonna be so different. The idea of it is that take the same actors, playing the same characters, in the same time, so all that’s the same – but they’re forty. It’s middle aged and that’s what it becomes about. Like when you’re twenty you think you can do anything with your body basically, the risks you take. When you look back at what you’ve done you think oh my god and they hit forty and they can’t do that anymore. And it’s triggered by Begbie, the Robert Carlyle character comes out of jail. So you can keep him in jail for five years, ten years, fifteen, whatever the story needs. And in the book, cause Irvin Welsh had written a sequel to it, he escapes from jail. John’s done a preliminary draft of the script and he has this great escape from jail – it’s really cool. Very funny and very crazy and then he re-ignites the whole chain of friendship if you like, but they are now different guys trapped like so many people are really, trapped in their hometown.”
He believes all of the original cast will return too, even Ewan McGregor. While this doesn’t sound like something that would happen next year, if anyone could make a damn good sequel to a film no one wants a sequel to, it’s Danny Boyle.
