I thought we had some sort of hip-hop thread, but I couldn’t find it.

Really wanted to get the MoFoes’ 😏 reaction to the Kendrick/Drake beef, without starting the thread with it.

It really feels like a work to me, but I’ll buy the ticket. It’s probably even better if it’s not real.

To me there is an undisputed all-time diss track and nothing has made feel like that since, although LL came close.

Not Like Us was the killshot imo,Wap wap wap.. beef over, Drizzy lost.. Also the label (Universal Music Group) forcing Kung-Fu Kenny to apologize is the equivalent of 'I'm telling dad' lol..

Woo Hoo Hoo..

undisputed all-time diss track and nothing has made feel like that since, although LL came close.
LL and Nas - Ether definitely comes to mind for one of the best all time.

What about "Malcolm X", though?:

Compared to hip hop, scat porn isn't that bad because at least you can skip back to the beginning where the girls are already naked but haven't started shitting yet. But hip hop is shit from start to finish.

you start a hip hop thread and the first thing you do is neglect to post a song from the king of the genre?

for shame! @doubledenim

My mind doesn’t process lyrics when listening to music. It’s all vibe. Probably why I fell in love with electric guitar.

That song is all-time vibe/mood transformation/hype/magic, which is how all music resonates with me.

Probably why I’m such a synthwave freak.

Thanks for the contribution.

Listen, I consider rap downright inhuman music. Even MST3K is more valuable than most rap.

Sure, there are some hip-hop albums you can listen to and not vomit at the same time, but those are few and in between, unfortunately. And you know what? I'm even allowing for the possibility here that, in this case, I'm the kind of rap normie who simply doesn't get this genre of music. Hip hop defeated my theory according to which you can find outstanding things in a music genre if you search long enough and persistently enough. Hardly any other genre of music matches hip hop in the level of disappointment that accompanies me every time I reach for some great classic of the genre.

The issue is as follows: normies don't listen to the good few hip-hop albums that exist. Normies listen to the worst that exists in this music. After all, it's the same with pop and rock. Normies always reach for the worst. After all, a normie has no bad taste. A normie has no taste at all. And because of this, he is unable to tell that what he listens to is downright inhuman music. And you'll have such an ape drive up in a car, some lowest form of rap on full volume, and he'll be driving around saying what a cool dude he is, gangsta and all. After all, this is derogatory to human dignity. If you want to listen to some music in the car with the volume cranked up to 11, listen to Bach's St. Matthew Passion, damn it!

By the way, I was reminded that my elementary school peers were listening to rap at the time, of course. To this day I know some of the lyrics of Polish rap by heart. It certainly left quite a mark on my psyche. Admittedly, at that time, I was more strongly enchanted by Mozart, Strauss, and Chopin, but I also respected Bach.

Unfortunately, later came a period of enchantment with some bad metal, but I consider it my own version of teenage rebellion.
