According to news reports, Lucasfilm is currently working on a new trilogy of Star Wars films, set after the conclusion of The Rise of Skywalker.

Lucasfilm is finally returning to a galaxy far, far away with development on a new �Star Wars� trilogy from �X-Men� alum Simon Kinberg.

Kinberg is writing and producing the trio of films with Lucasfilm chief Kathleen Kennedy. It will begin a new series after 2019�s �Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker� concluded the �Skywalker Saga.�

Hopefully it will be much better than the last trilogy (it was complete garbage) and hopefully it will be returned to George Lucas's control - where it should be.
I wouldn't mind if they retconned the whole thing, but to keep things simple and to not alienate those who liked the Rey saga

, they'll probably set it after the events of Rise of Skywalker. I mean, Carrie Fisher's gone, Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill are too old, so you might as well start with a new cast (I guess they could bring back C3PO and R2D2 - droids are essentially immortal). Throw in Mando and Grogu for good measure.
