There is only one film I have watched many times and will keep watching it many many times. I adore this animation.
That one movie you never tire of.

I've been consistently rewatching Police Story since the early 2000s. I simply can't get enough of this movie.
Judging by your profile picture and fav films, we're both fans of Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee.
Very nice, sir!

The Blob....the 1958 version of course, the "original:. It had Steve McQueen, Aneta Corsaut, 15 tons of jelly and one of those amazingly catchy intro songs, written by Bert Bacharach. The song is so cheerful that it makes you wish you could be absorbed by animated alien jell-o.

Am I the only person on the board who doesn't like rewatching movies over and over? Either you're all weird or I am
It's one of the main reasons I don't watch films for the lists if I can make a 25. I'm not going to be confident to add a film I've seen once (and recently) over something I like enough to have seen a number of times over the years, so why would I bother?

I put a rule in place that my 100 would only include films I've seen at least five times, so that I could make decisions and be more sure that it was, indeed, a favourite. Having a list of favourites which I've only seen once or twice just doesn't compute with me.

After I nominated The Blob, I started thinking that there's a lot more than "one" movie I'll come back to. Tonight's is Tremors, the first one, not the sequels. Kevin Bacon and a cast of gnarly rural folks find themselves under attack from burrowing, carnivorous "worms". What are they, how do you stop them from devouring the town? While I don't really think that the dusty town is worth saving, I do enjoy seeing these folks give it a try in Perfection, Nevada.

Some movies are for a moment, in that time and place, and I'll never be able to replicate that high, or expand upon it. And I'm fine with that, that still has value.
Some movies are evergreen, they never get old. Or maybe I see something I didn't notice before that adds a richness to the picture (Hiroshima Mon Amour has so many little touches, the way Resnais merges past and present in sound and visual and score), it might offer up different perspectives, it might say different things to me at different stages of life (Citizen Kane).
Sometimes you watch a series of stinkers, like "WTH me, why did I watch Madame Web?" and so, you pop in 8½, just to remind yourself what it feels like to watch a great movie again, and to clear out the bad taste.
And sometimes you re-watch a classic you didn't like as a teenager, to see if it connects with your older self. And sometimes you get a new, bigger and better TV and now you need to turn off the lights and watch the old favorites and delight in how good they look on this thing.
But aside from that, is there "one", only one, your "precious", or are there many?
On the Waterfront always moves me, A Hard Days Night always lifts my spirits, Unforgiven is the gift that keeps on giving and Last Year at Marienbad is a compelling puzzle, with multiple ways of reading scenes and meanings.
Oh, and I never tire of RoboCop... yeesh, yes, it's so much more than one.
How many rewatches do people do - what's considered a lot? Someone mentioned seeing a movie 500 times! I don't think I've ever seen anything even 100 times. 50? I doubt it, though I've revisited Jaws and Jesus Christ Superstar several times over the decades, I'd say they're closer to 20 / 20-plus. And I've slowed down on that because I have too many unseen's in my watchlists, I feel like I need to get to those first and foremost.

There are a lot of movies that I never tire of, but my pick is Tremors. Watched it dozens of times over the years, and I always enjoy it. It is pure entertainment.

There are many films that I have seen multiple times, but if I had to pick one, it would be "The Shawshank Redemption"

Reason: adding a picture
Having watched Death Race 2000 again for the umpteenth time, I think I'd have to add that. There just isn't a bad time to watch that film.
