Legendary Pictures is attempting to score the rights to the franchise now after Campbell/Grobman Films did both Texas Chainsaw 3D and Leatherface, which serve as an official sequel and prequel to the 1974 original.

Released on this day 50 years ago. A family film.

Victim of The Night
only one i seen is the one with jessica biel in it
I don't know if you'll like it or not but even the likes of William Friedkin of The Exorcist and The French Connection called it "a great film".

There is a primal, visceral energy in this film, especially the second half, that has yet to be successfully reproduced in any other horror movie I've seen. The pure manic energy of the last 10 minutes solidifies it as a much watch every year.

The sequels are just 'okay'. The 2003 reboot is my favorite from the bunch. The standout performance in any sequel/reboot is easily the deranged Sheriff Hoyt.
