With everyone focusing on Coppola's giant flop in Megalopolis what's been somewhat lost is Zemeckis has released another bomb. What people might not realize is Zemeckis has been on a decade long slump with The Witches, Pinnochio, Allied, and Welcome to Marwan all flopping. Obviously Zemeckis has been afforded opportunities to continue work thanks to his star friends and to be fair Allied, Flight, and The Walk were all good films.
On a personal note I admire him for not sequelizing Back to the Future and Who Framed Roger Rabbit. The trilogy is perfect and Roger Rabbit really wouldn't work today...but on the other hand he's been able to skate free after bomb after bomb. He was the producer of Mar's Needs Moms which killed a lot of peoples careers and he continues to get prestige film bookings wihtout delivering prestige film results.
So what are our thoughts on Zemeckis is it time for him to go away
