Movie You're Watching Tonight

Yes, I've seen it twice. I saw it at the theatre and liked it and then bought the blu ray and watched it again. I rated it an 8/10.

I quite enjoyed it! There isn’t a film of Cronenberg’s that I don’t like, though finally/stylistically I much prefer his earlier work. I also watched The Beast, also with Léa, not long after and thought it was somewhat informed by Crimes of the Future.

I have only seen older Cronenberg until today, both Eastern Promises and this.

They are both good..

Interesting that Lea is in Crimes of the Future and Vincent Cassel is in Eastern Promises. They are the two main actors in Gan's La Belle et La Bete.

I'm watching it again for the 90s Countdown. I saw it when it first came out and maybe 2 other times.

Since there's no Manningcast tonight, I'll try to get to Naked City. I could probably watch it during the game, which would last about double the movie. That would work. I can always pause and backtrack if I miss part of the movie. The game will probably suck.

What is a Manningcast?

Peyton and Eli Manning are retired NFL QBs and brothers and they've been doing an alternate broadcast of Monday Night Football for the past couple of years they call Manningcast. It's on ESPN 2 and runs at the exact same time as the regular MNF game on ESPN, and uses the same cameras. They just have their own commentary, as well as guests connected, somehow, to the teams, usually the guests are celebrity fans, and they discuss the game and what the guests do. It's highly entertaining. Sometimes it's so entertaining I don't pay attention to the game else the Manning brothers.

I thought it was okay. I rated it 3 1/2 stars.

Not a ringing endorsement, but I guess I shall see what it’s all about. Liking the visuals so far.

I really want to see Conclave but too busy so far.
