Everyone who dislikes it was born after 1990.

Going Overboard is also a strong contender. Until I watched Theresienstadt, it was my pick.

There are a few absolutely hate.
Starship Troopers and Jeepers Creepers.
Almost anything where Ben Affleck talks. And Dominic Cooper speaks with his natural British accent.

How could you possibly dislike a sci-fi flick with big, scary bugs and some "cheesecake" in the locker room?
I can't stand the film at all.

I don't remember the details myself, but it was basically the Brits and not the Yanks. Apart from that it was Turing's genius and German arrogance that broke Enigma.

Count me a fan of Starship Troopers, that one is a lock for my ballot. It's so subversive.

I stand by my post. Come get some!
On a serious note, m not a big fan of Starship Troopers either. It’s ok. Generally not a fan of Verhoeven in general.
Except Robocop.
Robocop was the bees knees.

If I like or dislike a film, I'm ok with others opinions of it.

Starship Troopers was some sort of commentary on something aimed at a very niche political group (though I forget which) (I'm not good at keeping those straight in my head) (mostly because I think they're all the same with different window dressing). I've seen pieces of it and thought it was really stupid. However it was supposed to be really stupid so I guess it succeeded? But I can't like it for being a piece of garbage, even though it was meant to be a piece of garbage. Um...

This, I think, speaks to what I call "Worst Movies".
For me, and I hold no one else to this, the gap between what went into a movie and what comes out, so to speak, has a lot to do with how bad I consider a movie to be. The more resources, and that includes budget, crew, "talent" (both in front of and behind the camera), effects (if applicable), and marketing go into something, the higher the bar (adjusted for genre and such) that must be met for "acceptable". With "bad" or "Worst" meaning "unacceptable".
A bunch of amateurs with no money doing their best can make The Strangeness and I salute them. I drink to young people who spent their own money and all their weekends for a year and did everything themselves and built a faux cave-interior in their grandparents' garage and made something that is extremely limited... and yet sort of succeeds on those terms. That is not a bad film and really cannot qualify for "Worst Movies".
On the other hand, when you have all the money and all the stars and all the writers and all the directors and cinematographers and crew and effects and marketing and everything else you could possibly hope for and you put out Wild Wild West... you have made a bad movie, a very, very bad movie, and you qualify for "Worst Movie" consideration. You actually allow The Rise Of Skywalker to hit screens in the condition that it did, you have committed an act of Worst Movieism.
That's kinda more my scale.
So, I actually can't compare WWW to Plan 9 because one of those was given every opportunity every privilege to be good and you are, perhaps rightly, comparing it to a movie that had no business or chance to ever be "good" but sure has some pluck.
Perhaps, really, you have made the most apt comparison, that Wild Wild West only deserves to be compared to a movie like Plan 9 and, because of both its intention to be good and all the privilege it had to become so, is found wanting by comparison.

If a huge studio made a film of similar or lesser quality, I'd say it stunk, probably, because they'd have way more resources and making a film like that wouldn't make sense.
Is that foolproof and always the case? No of course not. Sometimes an amateur film is deplorably awful, like one I've seen that I can't remember its title now, and sometimes the amateur film is stellar by any standard, like how Halloween was made by people who didn't know what they were doing and for no money and it was successful.

Your comment didn't exactly entice an argument.
I think it would be useful for these hate/disappoint/overrated threads to specify what sort of films can or can't be mentioned. Just to make sure that no fragile egos get hurt in the process.

That said, I see why people wouldn't like it, but saying anything is objectively bad, especially in the arena of subjective opinion concerning artistic and creative merit, is just kind of silly.
In my opinion, anyway.
Lastly, I am genuinely interested in reading your issues with both Blade Runner and Aguirre if you are so inclined.

It's a very 'goofy' movie, with some bizarre choices, but I agree it's nowhere as bad as many people say. Howard has a lot of funny moments, and Lea Thompson is very charming. She also did all of her own singing.
On that subject, it actually has a good soundtrack, written by Thomas Dolby.
It's really the second half where the movie begins to fall apart, with evil aliens showing up.
I'm still willing to fight on its behalf.

I don't see anyone with a bruised ego. Your post came across as just a tad troll-ish because you took shots at films that many people consider to be greats in their respective genres. It's hard to argue against the legacy of a film like Blade Runner for instance, when so many subsequent works borrow from it and their creators cite it as a major influence and/or inspiration. It pretty much created the genre of future noir and one can see its influence in both live action and animated film for decades afterwards.
That said, I see why people wouldn't like it, but saying anything is objectively bad, especially in the arena of subjective opinion concerning artistic and creative merit, is just kind of silly.

All of Werner Herzog's movies are tough watches, if you don't know what you're getting into.
I'd also like to know which version of Blade Runner. I can see some people getting turned off by Harrison Ford's narration in the original version. The movie's still gorgeous regardless.
