I have run out of films
Watch some bad movies; there's zillions of them. Maybe some cheesy horror movies from the 1960's. Use whatever your intoxicant of choice is, while you futz around on the web so you're only paying half attention, like when someone screams. Do that for a few nights and then watch something good. It will re-boot your movie-brain.

Some good films this week:
1. Little Fugitive (1953) 9.5
2. The 400 Blows (1959) 9*
3. The Straight Story (1999) 8.75
4. Girlfriends (1978) 8.75
Not a new film, but I also finally appreciated Elevator to the Gallows (1958), and would give it a 9.25.
*I just hadn't given it a decent chance previously.

You know, a good reason for checking out lower-quality movies is to see good directors' failures and compare them to the successes. I checked out an early example of the Moral Anxiety movement in Poland with Kieslowski's "The Scar," and it kinda bored me.

Were these all of the films you watched or just the stand-outs?
I think they are also the ones I finished.
I think watching imperfect films is a nice way to spend time.
Not every film needs to be deep and poignant to be good.
Enjoying the deep and poignant is fine too. I just think broadening your horizons is important too.
Happy to broaden them, but just not focused on bad or average movies. I'd be happy to watch an average or even bad movie with someone else. Just not what I want to spend my private viewing time on. I'm only interested in 8.75s up, and I just can't see that changing now. When I can't find any more, I'll change hobbies again.
Hell I watched and enjoyed Freddy vs Jason for the fourth time earlier this month and it's mindless entertainment. I can enjoy each end of the spectrum. Just make sure I come away with something.

That's kind of lame. Why not finish all of them? If you have time to post ad nauseam here, you have time to finish a dozen movies in a week. Oh well... I'll talk to the people who make sense to me....
well that made me laugh anyway. thanks.
imagine calling someone else's approach to movie viewing "lame". like, wtf haha?
I finished what I wanted to finish, and am pleased with what I've seen. Cheers. And thanks again for the chortle!
