Things that Impress or Please you, or make you Happy...

I realized this morning that I am impressed by the clock radio in my bedroom.

This is because it is at least 40 years old and still works great!
The only thing wrong with it is the labels are worn off the buttons on top (but since I have them fairly memorized, it's not a problem).

I say it's at least 40 years old (and maybe older) because I remember buying it when I was in college (which I started when I was 17 and I am now 59) and I do remember having a different one in high school that had bright blue numbers (while this "newer" one has red numbers)!

I think I bought it at "Korvettes" or maybe it had become "Caldor's" by then (how's that for nostalgia?)

You ready? You look ready.
@Captain Steel: I have a 1990s GE clock with those red digits. I’ll buy another off ebay if it ever dies. It’s gotta be red digits. everything else is too harsh

I concur!
My previous one had a dimmer switch, but was still too bright! (Which is probably why I chose the Magnavox with the red digits!)

Merry New Year, everybody! It's exactly one year later since I started this thread!

Right around New Year's day this year, I downloaded an adblocker called PIE.
So far, it's gotten rid of all ads at the beginning, in the middle and at the end of YouTube videos and reversed all the troubles I was having with non-stop ads on YouTube. Thing is, I had an adblocker on my computer, but YouTube had made it so you couldn't have THAT blocker in place and still view videos. I was skeptical of the PIE adblocker, but so far there's been no strings attached, it only took seconds to activate, and it's worked perfectly.

There is another kind of activity associated with PIE - where you allegedly can get paid for watching ads. I didn't select this option.

Interesting. I never heard of PIE though I do use an adblocker but not sure if it blocks ads in YouTube videos or not? I don't really watch YouTube videos much. I do see PIE is available for Chrome browsers and browsers based on Chrome.

Yes. Luckily Chrome is the browser I use.

I'm surprised Google allows PIE to be in the Chrome store as Google owns YouTube.
Yeah, that and several other reasons made me skeptical. After two weeks, I'm still a little skeptical (waiting for the other proverbial shoe to drop) Heck, I'm still waiting for my viewscreen to open up and hit me in the face with a PIE! But until that happens and while I can look at YouTube without incessant ads holding up and popping up during every video, I am for the moment content.

I don't actually wear pants.
Dawg I just want to make movies, play table top or video games, watch films, and goof off, all with my friends and family. Shit let's go yo. Enough of this boring minimum wage peon working crap. That's dumb. I want to have fun. Let's make a film like Truman Show where people are actually part of a video game under the control of some evil corporation. There; I included my specific activities. I'm very tired and a little lonely.

I hate insomnia. Oh yeah. Last year I had four cases of it, and each time it lasted three months.

A clean apartment (mine) makes me happy. I'm not a neat freak by any means, but cleaning is part of my morning routine, and when it's done, I can see the results right in front of my eyes and it makes me happy.

I thought of something else that's more substantial; the feeling of getting in bed after a shower. I shower at nights so I can relax after a day of anxiety, and I needn't worry about a time crunch, and I always feel great climbing into bed after the shower.

Another one is stretching my core and upper legs, especially after being in the same position for some time. I learned about some easy stretches for when I'm lying down and my back hurts, and they really help. I have issues sitting still vis ADHD, so I constantly shift, and my knees always feel good when I move them. My hips never feel good but I can make them feel less bad vis walking a short distance. I learned that complacency is horrible for the hips and lower back, so I love finding reasons to get up and move every so often since my hips and lower back are pretty bad

This week I have learned that I love omeprazole.
