Remakes I'm Never Watching

Tools

So, I mentioned in a previous post that there are several horrible remakes out there that I have not seen, which was quite simply because I had no interest in them. Here are some that I never plan to sit through.
The Fog - I didn't even care that much for the original. Moving on.
Prom Night - The original was just okay in my eyes, and when I heard that there was going to be a slasher remake that was aimed at younger audiences, I passed.
The Eye - You mean to tell me that China's scariest movie ever was redone in English with Jessica Alba?
Psycho - Ignoring the fact that this had Vince Vaughn playing the infamous killer, people have told me that they copied the original shot by shot. What's the point of that? Speaking of which...
Quarantine - Seriously, Hollywood, didn't you learn your lesson with Psycho? Plus, I heard that they changed the origin of the zombies to something more scientific and cliched. Meh.
The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari - For a while, I wanted to see this after I heard that Doug Jones was playing Cesare, but I couldn't find it anywhere. Later on, I started listening to some of the comments people had to say about the film, and I suppose it's better if this one stays buried.
A Nightmare on Elm Street - The trailer looked terrible, and everyone who saw it said that it was terrible. So I didn't watch it. Easy enough.
Night of the Living Dead 3D - Sadly, this isn't the only Night of the Living Dead reboot to come out in the past ten years. It isn't even the only one in 3D. I managed to make it about an hour into Reanimation before I figured out that I was wasting my time. Don't watch that movie unless you want to see Jeffrey Combs and Andrew Divoff talk about politics for 90 minutes. Also, someone dreams about someone else having sex with a corpse. To all of the up and coming horror filmmakers out there, stop trying to recreate what George Romero already did. Tom Savini has already done that, and you're not Tom Savini. Try actually being like George Romero when he was making that movie and create something that's based off of your own idea. Except for you guys who made Mimesis; keep doing what you're doing.

What are some remakes you will never watch?

Conan was sort of entertaining. Tbh, I wasn't in love with either version.

Sanjuro and Harakiri I will never touch

I've heard rumors that Arnie is going to be in the next Predator.

It has been announced that there is to be a remake of Timecop (1994), the Jean-Claude Van Damme action flick. While not a perfect film, it is one of JCVD's best (and I don't know if that's saying something or not but I like the guy). I don't know how a remake can be better but you never know. I'll hold out final opinion till the finished product comes out.

I would. If just for post-credits scene.

And this from rabid fan of the originals
But they took away the camp - the thing I love most about the originals.
I don't like horror movies.

I also heard he might be in the PG-13 Hollywood remake of The Toxic Avenger. Not looking forward to that at all...
Damn, that sounds terrible. I've also heard about the possibility of Hollywood making a PG-13 Hellraiser remake. Unless it's based on The Thief of Always or Abarat, you cannot do a PG-13 Clive Barker movie, let alone one that is part of the freaking Hellraiser franchise.

I've seen it, and it's my favorite film of the year so far. As over the top as the gore scenes are, though, they did take away the camp factor. Still, I was thoroughly entertained and will buy it after it comes out.

There are some movies that should not be PG 13, and these are two examples...

Pretty much any horror remake is destined to suck. If you can't think of an original idea and have to use an existing property than that is a huge warning sign.

^ I remember when the directors of the French film Inside were up for directing that but they left it after not wanting to make a PG-13 version.

Hollywood remake of Old Boy. The original Korean film is not a movie that should be Hollywood-ified. Spike Lee??? Come on man. SMH.

A system of cells interlinked
Pretty sure I have to agree on Oldboy...
