OK, I agree that these are too tough to choose from. A Christmas Story is a top five favorite for the holidays. I love both Ghostbusters and A Nightmare on Elm Street, for this time of the year. I'm a nut (Save the jokes! ) for horror movies, as well as for Fall & Halloween. I normally start watching anything horror, by the start of August. Those two movies are favorites of mine.

Back to the Future is also a huge family favorite. We love all three of those movies, and have the boxed set, times two. VHS & DVD.

I don't suppose Predator would win, but I do actually love it. The same goes for RoboCop. Although the gore, as well as the movie facts/the reason he became RoboCop, disturb me a lot. The gore in Predator, I can handle. It's like with movies such as The Thing, where even though the gore is extreme, it's also impossible. I can separate myself from it. Saying that, takes me to the next movie, a movie I never plan on watching . . . The Untouchables. It's funny, but I find that I've never been a fan of mob movies. I'm sure it has to do with my worry of how much human torture will be involved. Shhhhh!

The last film, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, is a film I own, but have never viewed. I plan to watch it, eventually, but I'm not expecting to love it. This is based on several scenes I've already watched. We shall see.

Truth be told, I own every last movie, except for The Untouchables. Wow, what a bunch of info!

I just selected RoboCop so I can just see the votes.
Lucky me! Being a mod, I won't have to do that, just to see. I'll just click the "Edit Poll" button. Back to the Future is winning, with A Nightmare on Elm Street right behind it.

Thursday Next's Avatar
I never could get the hang of Thursdays.
RoboCop, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Back to the Future and Ghostbusters are all pretty good, although it's been a long time since I've seen some of them. Predator is only okay. I haven't seen A Christmas Story or Nightmare on Elm Street. I agree with Camo on The Untouchables, it's rubbish.

Welcome to the human race...
Even after seeing the current results, I voted for RoboCop, even though it would have made more sense to vote for Predator simply to help it win out over Back to the Future. See, this is why the results are usually kept secret until a person has actually voted so as to guarantee a more sincere vote.

Welcome to the human race...
RoboCop and Predator are favourites, Who Framed Roger Rabbit is great, Back to the Future and The Untouchables are good, and the rest are overrated trash.

I voted for Back to the Future, but Who Framed Roger Rabbit is a close second, followed closely by Ghostbusters in third place.

RoboCop was also good, but it's not up at the level of the other three movies.

I haven't seen Predator, A Christmas Story, The Untouchables, and A Nightmare on Elm Street.

I thought the dialogue was awful more than anything, had me cringing all over the place. I'd also say IMO Connery gave the worst Oscar winning performance I've seen.
I agree, and his accent was atrocious.

I'd never seen A Christmas Story till a few years ago when an American friend sent me the dvd. She couldn't believe I'd never seen it as she told me it was a staple on US tv at Xmas. I liked it too.

I voted for Ghostbusters as it's my favourite out of the listed, but it'd be closely followed by Who Framed Roger Rabbit

Out of all these, RoboCop is the one I grew up on so that has some nostalgic value on top of the fact that it is still a great film. So that gets my vote.
