Coldplay? Yea or Nay??

They got some decent pop songs. Not exactly groundbreaking.

Older Coldplay is fine, later is not.

Yea. I like them.

2000-2005 Coldplay is great
2008-2022 Coldplay is meh

how did they change??

Early Coldplay was more stripped down instrumentally, but more complex and dynamic lyrics and melody wise.
Later Coldplay is more bombastic instrumentally, but more simplistic and repetitive lyrics and melody wise.

Recognize the name but I am not familiar with their tunes.

My favorite single of theirs is Clocks:

I like some of of their music, particularly some of the tunes on A Rush of Blood to the Head.

I’m am of the opinion that if you’ve heard one Coldplay song, you’ve heard them all. So far I haven’t been proven wrong.

They make nice music to listen to while shopping at pharmacies or grocery stores.

I like a few of their songs, all off their earlier albums. I have the Parachutes, and X&Y albums. Don't Panic is a song I really like.

I should like them, I come from the same neck of the woods as them (and Muse), but I just could not get into Coldplay, Princess of China is good though!

The keyboard riff at the beginning is definitely familiar, but the rest, not so much. Nice song.
