Things that annoy you...

I'm not going to lie; I used to let things get to me and I used to get mad a lot. Then I started seeing a mental health person at a clinic place and she described how being angry is a choice and we can always choose not to be angry, so I decided to try that. It took effort and focus and now I can approach a lot of situations without feeling the least bit angry, even when, if it had happened just two years ago, I would have been pissed.

My older kiddo even said a few weeks ago how much calmer I am at night than my parents. I just made the effort to be. I decided not to be angry anymore, so I'm not. It's not simple and it isn't easy but it is doable to still the anger. That's what people don't recognize. I recognize it because I've been taught as such.
I used to have anger issues too. I used to adjust the meaning of words I used. For example, "excuse me" meant "get the heck out of my way" and so on. After a while, I actually meant it when I said "excuse me." That and massive amounts of anti-depressants helped me.

Anger is easy so it's used a lot. I use medication as well. I guess I should have mentioned that earlier. My mental health people also tell me that meds only go so far. The patient also needs to work on the issues to get complete treatment. It's why I hate missing appointments. It sounds like you're moving in a positive direction? I hope you've gotten what you needed.

My older brother freaking out when my kiddos do something he doesn't like is incredibly annoying. The kiddos are still fairly young so they're still growing and learning, so difficulties happen and I must be able to help them with them, which is fine, whereas my older brother is 39. Just tonight at dinner, the younger of my two kiddos was unhappy with something, so I was working on solving it, and my older brother stood up and made some sort of autistic noise, then the kiddo did something else, so my older brother grabbed his chair and moved it back and forth, then brother sat down and rocked back and forth making his weird grunting sounds.

The thing is my older brother, although extremely autistic, has never been diagnosed, so his antics go unstoppered. He also has a pretty well-paying job and there are plenty of affordable housing options in the area vis his income, and unaffordable vis mine, so he could very well move out and live on his own and not deal with my kids. Instead he'd rather spaz out and throw tantrums like a five-year old when he gets annoyed with them.

We were discussing anger here earlier. His way of dealing with anger is to run into the family room and scowl and flap his hands really hard by his head, and then prance around on his toes whilst flapping his hands and grunting. Holy garbage is it annoying. Then he'll get a snack and eat it while breathing incredibly heavily which is one of the most annoying sounds I've ever heard.

When a package says "Tear Here" and no matter how hard you try, IT WON'T TEAR THERE!!
The worst (which I encountered again in chilly CT today) is the hand warmers one can buy to stuff inside gloves. These things never tear open like they should & one can be freezing to pieces trying to open these things.

Here's an annoying thing; people eating really loudly. My dad is horrible about this. His way of eating canned fruit and soup is to do some weird inhaley thing where he'll suck the liquid off of the spoon and make a bunch of noise. Then he'll eat ice cream by doing some weird smacky thing with the spoon. He somehow crunches yogurt and slurps pizza. I remember trying to turn on a movie on Amazon on the TV for my mom and he and I to watch while he was eating ice cream and the noise made it impossible for me to concentrate. I had to wait until he was done to think clearly and turn on the movie.

My ex-wife was also horrible about noisy eating. She'd eat pretzels with her mouth open and smacking her entire jaw as much as possible and doing some weird snorty noise. Her way of eating peanuts was to have her lips as far apart as possible and then make as much wet snorty noise as possible while occasionally smacking.

My fish spawned again.

I thought I was done with this crap. I only have two females left and they're both old and looking like they don't have a lot of time left. Plus I hadn't seen any fry in like two years, but what did I spot the other day when I went to feed them? Fry. UGH. And I'm too much of a softie to just leave them to be snacks for their parents or to die of starvation from being outcompeted by the adults so I caught the ones I could find and transferred them to another tank to raise them. Stupid horny fish.

What kind of fish do you have?

I use to have those in a 15 gallon aquarium, bred like crazy, I must have had a 100 or more of them.
I gave away a bunch of them a few years back so I had it at a manageable number. Maybe I'll get lucky and be able to find homes for these babies and not be stuck with them.

I keep telling them that there's a reason why some people use them as feeder fish, but they won't listen.

Forgot your password? / create password.

I don't know how many times this has happened because I've lost count: I'm trying to register on a website, but it says it can't accept the password I've created - so it says to click the "forgot my password" button and they'll send an e-mail containing a link to create a "new" password (to either replace the one I forgot or make a new one to register as a new member / user).

The only problem is that after clicking on the button and submitting my e-mail address, they never send me an e-mail!
Currently, I'm trying to register with ShopRite (as they say they are discontinuing the coupons they mail to your house).

I think that about 4 out of 5 websites that say they'll send me an e-mail to continue never send any e-mail (and this is after submitting my address multiple times).

Did you check your spam folder? I frequently find that emails have dropped in there instead of my in box.

Email is as tricky as it's ever been. Spam got out of control, spam filters got better, but the consensus seems to be that it's better to occasionally block those automatic emails if it means blocking almost all awful spam. Oh well.

When someone is in crisis and opens up about a difficult problem to trusted friends and then the friends end up rejecting the person.

I wonder what reasons the friends had for rejection.

As best as I can gather, they were uncomfortable with the situation and were not willing or able to put aside their own discomfort to support a friend in need.

Getting injured all of the time is irritating. My primary care postulates I tore a meniscus in my right knee. I don't know that I'll need surgery yet vis the process only started this week. It's not looking good though that I can get away without it. This injury like 30 to 35 in the past 17 years. Can it stop now please...?

I don't even know how to prevent most of the injuries. They were freak things. I once sprained my right ACL just turning to look for traffic on a side street to make sure it wouldn't hit me turning right. One morning I woke up with a sprained hip that the previous night I went to sleep and it was fine. I once stooped to pick up my child and my right knee popped and I sprained my ACL again. I slipped on a slope and hit my knee on the ground and bruised cartilage. I lifted a heavy thing with my back and tore the labrum in my right hip. I slept on my right arm funny and twisted my already-damaged elbow into a sprain. The list goes and goes.

Now I tripped and fell on my knee and may have torn a meniscus. Like holy crap...
