Can't be an american movie, it seems we've exhausted all possibilities now. So it's likely another language spanish, like the spanish movie the previous posters friend suggested or a European film.

It sounds a lot like The Maze Runner but the kids were never put into an arena to fight a ball robot, unless you're referring to the Grievers - robot spiders?

I think the key is the "huge metal circle ball robot with tentacles". That seems like a very specific detail. Once we have found that, we have found the movie. I like the suggestion that maybe it was a robot spider.

No, we don't know how to find it. If we did, we would have found it. With all of us working so hard on this for so many years, without success, it is beginning to look as though you may have misremembered some of the details, or combined two (or more) movies in your mind. Maybe it could have been an episode of a TV series?
As you have said above, this must have had a large budget, so how it can it be this obscure? (If it was a flop, it would be on lists of "great big budget flops")
Perhaps were you a child when you saw it? Often people see things when they are a child, and think they are really cool, but then when they see it again as an adult, they can see how cheap the effects were.
Maybe you need to give us some more details. Did the main character, the kid who goes into this world, get turned into an adult? How do the characters fight the robot in the arena--bare hands? weapons? (if so what kind of weapons)
What country were YOU in when you saw this? Did you see it in the cinema, on TV, somewhere else?

I've been through all the scenarios in my head, some things cannot fool my memory , this was one movie and not part of a TV series. I watched it on a Russian website that uploaded all American films dubbed , as well as new ( at that time ) movies were on that website , that website now goes under a different net and has been fully updated with no way finding movies uploaded in 2012 . I am starting to believe this was a foreign movie, but that website mainly uploaded American movies . I have looked it up in Russian as well with no avail.
I am also looking up parts of the movie like '' Kid enters another world and finds kids his age '' or '' big tentacle robot fights in arena with kids '' i've looked up parts of the movie and still have not found anything.
No the kid never get turned into an adult , movie had a happy ending as far as i remember with the protagonist boy and another kid finding the control room which was used to control the robot and it was like a bunker and they used it to destroy the arena and city . Now i just remembered something and im not 100% sure i remember it correctly but i think they put something in the control room for it to activate and be able to control the robot and i think it was a sword/dagger ?

Yes i don't think it's genre is fantasy i dont remember any ''magical'' aspect of the film , it's more like Adventure&Sci-Fi

A lot of people hate it when I suggest this, but you'd be surprised how often it turns out to be true/explains things...
...are you sure this is one thing? It's not that rare for these questions to end up involving two things mashed together over time. Hell, we had one user who realized one of the weirder elements was actually from a dream.
I usually only suggest this if a) the mix of elements is super weird or b) someone's having a very hard time finding something with a lot of things that should be very distinct.
