any movie suggestions?

Hi, i want to find some good movies to watch, but i am having difficulty find some. any good ones? it could be any genre, i just want something good to watch.

Flow (2024) is excellent. It's a beautiful and captivating animated film with no dialogue.

Good movies? Recent or all time? This is a very broad question, everyone has their own style or favourites.

Also depends on who your favorite actor/actresses are.


Runaway Jury I would suggest that. 1408 was an interesting watch and throws your mind for a bit of a loop.
Primal Fear - oh man! .. that one threw me, but it was good.
Fall - A very unassuming title, another psychological one that really got me, good as well.
Oh so on the topic of thrillers, I have to mention Double Jeapordy a good twist.

For comedy Uncle Buck, Liar Liar, and sorry but have to mention Dumb and Dumber very goofy kind of immature but funny. Hall Pass and Tag



Science Fiction is my favourite genre so I could mention a ton here, Aliens, The Edge of Tomorrow, The Tomorrow War, The Day After Tomorrow, 2012, The Great Wall, After Earth, The Wandering Earth, Ex Machina, Mortal Engines, I Robot, Real Steel, I am Legend, World War Z


Alita the Battle Angel, Tron, Ready Player One ...


For animation, Despicable Me and the Minions series, funny. Wild Robot, started off ho hum but then it got better, a bit emotional - it was good. If a movie pushes your emotions, it's gooood. Planet 51 maybe a bit youngish but I thought it was good has a great soundtrack - I always enjoy a movie with a great soundtrack, it can make or break a movie.

I missed quite a few but I could go on and on. Some Russian movie had my head spinning and feeling odd afterwards, I think it was Annihilation? Maybe there was some hidden subliminal messages in there, who knows .. but they do say Russians think differently than Americans so how they presented a film would sit a bit differently than all the others I'm used to.

I could give a few thousand suggestions, but what kinds of films are you normally into?

If you name some characteristics you like seeing in a movie, I/we could give you better recommendations. Also, if you see any of the movies I posted, and give feedback (1-10 score, likes/dislikes), then I could recommend even better movies that YOU would like.

Check out the IMDB Top 100. Even if you don't agree on all of them, you can't go all THAT wrong. Once you get past that, they also have a Top 250.

I thought I remember during Tyler1’s top films he listed (around the same time you had done yours if I recall correctly) you mentioned you had a love hate relationship (or something like that) with their films.

Not yet. In fact, I wrote in the Directors I Haven’t seen yet thread that they are among the directors I haven’t seen yet, after our conversation.
At some point I’ll have to get to them. That just means I still have a lot of great cinema ahead of me.

I’m glad you didn’t take this as any attempt at a “gotcha!” Moment, I was just genuinely curious on your take on their films overall.
Believe it or not, when you mention a director I’m not familiar with, I pay attention and look them up for future consideration.
