The trick is not minding
Megalopolis is the most misunderstood film of the past year. I can see it maybe being disappointing, but among the worst? No. I don’t see it.
It isn’t without its issues, but those issues don’t make it among the worst of the year. If anything, it should be lauded for daring to be different

Coppola has long been ahead of his time.

As for the Razzies, I think I can safely say that Joker 2 deserves to sweep every single category!!

I’ve recently done a deep dive into past nominees and winners of this award, I’ve come to the conclusion that this award is not about the worst films, but about films that didn’t live up to their expectations, leaving them vulnerable to ridicule as opposed to movies that are really bad

In this case, the pic for worst picture is Joker 2. Only half of people had any hopes for Megalopolis, people are tired of Sony Spider-Man spin-offs, movies based on video games are still in an odd spot, and nobody was really paying attention to Reagan to the best of my memory.

Unless people want to turn it into a political thing and deny it. I never trust reviews for movies about politicians.

Madame Web and Joker: Folie à Deux were not bad. I can think of at least 40 movies from last year worse than those two.
I only saw 9 new releases from last year, so far. I haven't seen Madame Web, but I didn't think Joker: Folie à Deux was a bad movie and I didn't think the performances were bad, either.

If I were to vote a worst actor for the movies I have seen, I'd give it to Paul Mescal for Gladiator II.

Joker 2 is the only comic-book movie to have ever received a "D" Cinemascore, on top of some of the worst reviews of any movie to come out in the same year.

And as some have pointed out online, the Joker movies went from receiving 11 Oscar nominations (for the first one) to 7 Razzie nominations for the sequel. That's a massive decrease in prestige.

You're the man who sees it all. What would be on the Razzies, if you picked?

Joaquin in the worst actor category is laughable. He was good. He always is and that performance was no exception. Without him the movie would’ve been so much worse…

Many of these I haven’t seen but from what I can read and the little that I have seen I don’t think I’m missing out to say the least.

The worst film I saw in 2023 was a comedy with Charlie Day called Fool’s Paradise. This movie redefined stupid. I even began my review by stating that the movie would sweep the razzies. The film didn’t receive a single razzie nomination, yet Joker 2 gets nominated in every category. I hated Joker 2 as much as everyone else, but Fools Paradise made Joker 2 look like Citizen Kane. These awards are not really about the worst films but the films that cost the most money and didn’t make the money back in box office receipts

And judging by the lists, they just nominate people from these disappointing films to every category whether the actual performance deserves it*. These awards are just as worthless as the actual Oscars are.

*Few years back they gave the award to a deserving candidate but changed and apologized afterward due to public outcry (yeah, I'm talking about the young girl in the Firestarter remake - the worst child actor performance I've seen in years, what were the people who hired her thinking).

My picks for the worst films:

Night Swim
Arcadian
Players
Our Little Secret
The Underdoggs

The only one of these I've seen is Night Swim, but those first two acts were practically 0 of 100, and I was ready to give it that if not for the excellent plot device they introduced in the third act.

Joaquin Phoenix does not deserve to be considered a "Worst Actor". He is great as Arthur Fleck/Joker.

Megalopolis should sweep all the categories.

I can't believe Adam Driver didn't get a worst actor nod.
